Q: If I buy a tiller than does not have a reverse how can I get it into a small storage shed and then get it out. There is not enough room to turn it around. Do the tillers have a "free wheel" so I can adjust the wheels to just roll in the shed without the engine on and then pull it out the next time I want to use it. Thanks. Tom Belton
by Tom Belton from North Carolina on March 02, 2012

A: Tom,

Yes the Troy-Bilt Bronco™ (14") Counter Rotating Rear Tine Tiller - Model 21D-64M1066 has a free wheel mode. You need to raise one wheel about 1" off the ground, remove the wheel drive pin, slide the wheel in toward the center and replace the wheel lock pin through the wheel shaft (not the wheel hub). Reverse all this and return to the "wheel drive" position before starting the tiller.

This is a link to the manual. Please look at Page 8 Figure 3-5.

Q: Hi. Will you explain the 'dual rotating' tines verses the 'counter rotating' tines. I am perplexed in buying between these two features. Thank you! Mike
by Mike from Pennsylvania on July 14, 2011

A: Mike - you may want to take a look at our buyer's guide for rear tine tillers. This will answer your question in detail, and give you some other things to think about and look for when choosing the right tiller. Just click on this link: Pick the perfect tiller

Q: What is counter rotation in comparison to forward rotation?
by Mary Jo Connell from Tennessee on June 01, 2011

A: Mary Jo - counter rotating tines move in a "backwards" direction - or "counter" to the direction that the tiller is moving in. This counter rotating action is ideal for deep tilling or for tilling in hard soil or clay.

Q: Do these tillers have reverse?
by Gerry Bord from Wisconsin on May 01, 2011

A: Hi Gerry - the Troy-Bilt Bronco does NOT have a reverse gear. If you are looking for a Troy-Bilt tiller with a reverse gear, you would have to step up to either the Super Bronco model, or the Pony model. Both of these models have one forward speed plus a power reverse feature.

Q: Is this a pull start?
by Johnita Gntry from Washington on March 19, 2011

A: Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, this is a recoil start.

No Question As To The Brand We Chose
We have had a bigger Troy-Bilt for 37 years the only repair ever needed was replacement of the tines. When it came time to replace that tiller, there was no question as to the brand. We went immediately to the Troy-Bilt web site, chose a smaller tiller, and ordered without ever even looking at another brand. The ease of turning, engaging the wheels, and guiding the machine are pluses. We have a 90 foot by 90 foot garden. I can till between the rows of the entire garden in less than an... more

Been gardening for 40 years and have had a Troy Bilt Horse for over twenty five years and loved that. Now with this Bronco I can get places where I only was able to use a hoe. Love my Bronco. Love being able to disengage the drive to the wheels using the cotter pins I can run this baby thru my raised beds easily. Thanks guys for the great deal and free shipping.

This Tiller Is Great
I have always wanted to have my own garden since I was alone. I couldn't seem to find the right size tiller to fit my needs and not be so big I couldn't handle it. This tiller is great. It has the staying power to tear up grassy lawns but also the ability to dig deep and mulch the soil.

I am amazed at how easy it is to handle and I am excited that your delivery was so prompt and speedy. Thanks for your great customer service and I look forward to ordering a whole house generator when I... more
