Never Again
Tiller started ok when I first got it, but would not shut off. Took an hour or so to find the loose connection to the shut off switch. This indicated to me poor quality control at the factory. Used this season and had less than 7 hours on the machine and had to take it in for repairs.

Transmission had failed and had to be replaced. Fortunately covered by warranty, but would have been a $586 bill had it not been. That is on a tiller I paid $900 for. What will next season bring?

Good - Not Great
I got this being super excited to finally own my own Troy-Bilt tiller! Out of the crate the it went together just fine.

It came with a bottle of oil suggesting that you need to add your own out of the box. The oil both in the tiller and in the bottle are VERY clear which makes it really hard to tell with a good measure of accuracy your level in the engine.

Tilling is good however the vertical action may not be the best for mixing things INTO the soil - like top of dirt to bottom....

Works Much Better Than You Might Think!
Was in need of a new tiller, and hated the thought of spending over a grand on a new one, even though I knew I would like the forward rotating tines of the Pony tiller. I wasn't too keen on counter rotating tines, so I decided to give the new Troy Bilt VTT a chance.

I was skeptical at first, but after using the tiller once, I was blown away by how well it worked. Plowed through my hard clay in no time. Very impressive. Was kind of jerky when the tines hit the side of the garden or when... more

Take The Time To Learn--it's A Great Tiller
I like this tiller a lot

Out of the box, I would have given this three stars, but now that I have learned to use it, I give it 4.5. Since the rating system is only integer based that rounds to 5, but be advised.

You have to get used to the fact that under its own power it is just a very slow mover. That doesn't matter much when you are tilling but it will when you are trying to move it uphill to, say, the garage.

Having said that, this little beast has some wonderful new features.... more

Very Surprised With This Tille
Bought this because I needed a tiller for rough ground and thought this might do the job, I was very impressed with how smooth it worked thru my ground it is slow mover but when it moves thru the soil is tilled very well as much as I didn't like the cost I would buy this one again
Pros: Durable, Exceeded Expectations
Cons: Expensive

Gimick
I have made seven passes and still need to do more. It takes a muscle man to turn it around. It was a big mistake buying this..
