"A picture says a thousand words. But to us, a video review can be worth $1,000," said Jon Hoch, president of Power Equipment Direct.
The winning video will be judged based on originality, creativity and overall appeal. In addition, the video review submission must mention Power Equipment Direct or one of its 13 niche web stores. It must be an original video, and the reviewer must talk about the product or show it in use.
According to Hoch, amateur videos are the most helpful form of purchasing-information for prospective customers.
"Manufacturer commercials are only so helpful. Seeing an actual product in use from an actual user is more useful," said Hoch.
No purchase is necessary for entry into the Video Review Contest. Entries must be submitted by midnight on July 31, 2013.
