Handle Will Not Stay In The Upmost Position. Hard On My Back Wh
The machine worked very well with one exception: The handle would not lock into an elevated position. It keeps slipping back down no matter how much I tighten the bolt.

This is hard on the back and caused me to seek medical intervention. The handle should have a positive locking method versus an adjustable slot. My medical bills and back pain caused to price to be too high.
Pros: Quiet, Light Weight, The shipper was exceptional
Cons: Difficult To Use, handle will not lock in position and stay.

Delivery, which was advertised as being free, actually was $50, for a lift gate on an 18 wheeler. Who has a fork lift in their garage? Plas, the lift gate on truck only allowed to load it in the bed of my truck, which still was my problem to unload. When trying to assemble the handle to the unit, the welded hex nut to the handle, which is used to secure the adjustment lever (threaded 3/8") was not in alignment and made the assembly impossible. So, I was required to improvise to complete... more

Paul,
Thank you for taking the time to write a detailed review of your tiller. I apologize for any inconvenience that those issues have caused and I understand how frustrating that can be. Additionally, I'm sorry if you felt misled by the additional cost of using lift-gate with delivery. This is a charge from the shipping company that some folks feel is necessary and others don't need when getting their equipment delivered.

Your tiller is covered by a 2 year consumer warranty, so if anything happens in the future, you can rest assured that maintenance will be taken care of. If you have any questions regarding your tiller you can always give us a call. Thank you again for your business and I hope you have a great day.

Very Disappointed
Received our tiller as promised and intact. We are yet to use it as we live in Wisconsin, and the ground is not yet thawed enough to get started. That was the good news. We noticed the right tire went flat. Pumped it up again, and it promptly went flat again. Never been out of the garage, and it is non-functional. Fairly, I have not notified Tillers Direct yet. I hope they will rectify this issue before use time shortly.

As things stand, unable to rate any area below as the tire does... more

Nice Tiller
Nice tiller that came with 2 user manuals. Only problem is that both were in Spanish. Called Customer Service and they said they would send me an English version - NEVER HAPPENED. So while the tiller is good if you already know how to use one an English User Manual as promised would have been great. Still have not received it.
Cons: Bad Instructions, Cust Service

Excited Every Time I Get To Use It!
Everything is just as I hoped it would be. This is a solid, smooth running work horse. It's much quieter than I expected as well. I have told anyone who will listen about my new tiller.
Pros: Easy To Use, Durable, High Quality, Fast
Cons: Bad Instructions

Very Bad Directions, Couple Set-up Issues - But Love The Tiller
This tiller really comes mostly set up, but the directions are the WORST. You cannot tell from the picture where the bolts go. The lever that locks the handle into position had messed up threads so we had to get someone to re-thread it for us. Also, the throttle was hard to get connected right. All that said, once we got it running, it is really a nice little tiller. We started with ground that probably had not been used for anything for many years. It was hard-packed with large weeds. ... more

I Like The Tiller And Recommend It
Easy to assemble. Easy to store. My only complaint is that I had to re-dye and tap one of the welded nuts and the bolts that had fouled threads. Once I did that it worked great.
Pros: Price, Easy To Use

Very Pleased Safety Issues
Very strong, excellent results.

HOWEVER: Gear shift lever connector should have a retaining pin.

The shifting is not smooth, but needs a shove.

Wheels stay engaged, unless the clutch is COMPLETELY Released. In reverse it almost backed over me. Just let go of the left handle and hope it stops.

SAFETY ISSUE, but is a great workhorse
Cons: Difficult To Use, Bad Instructions, Gear Shift And Clutch Are Poor

Good Tiller For The Price And Design
I have had this Tiller for 1 month and have used it for about 6 hours. The tiller arrived as promised with a little box damage with no equipment damage. After simple assembly, 15 min, added oil and fresh fuel. Two pulls and the tiller came alive.

Here in Mississippi we have clay soil, so we chose the 14" tiller with the 207cc engine to do the work here. I made 3 passes in a 22' x 50' garden area which took 4 hours and 1 tank of gas. The area is now grass free, finally, and tilled to... more

No Reason To Worry.
I was worried about making a large purchase like this. I did lots of reading reviews and research to make sure I was going to buy the right tiller. This one seemed to have the best reviews including what other sites had, it was the right price, and I could have it delivered. I love shopping online. I have used this tiller twice now and it is a great tool.

It starts super easy and it does great working the garden soil. The only issue I have, which is really minor, is sometimes shifting is a... more
