Hi - I'm building a fence around my garden and am interested in the width of the Cub Cadet RT65 and Husqvarna DRT900/DRT900H so I know how wide I need to make the gate. Don't want to build a fence and find I can't get the tiller into the garden!
Roger
from Colorado

Answer
Roger,
We are looking at a max width of about 23" when the RT65 is fully assembled, and the DRT900/900H are the same size with a max width of about 20.5".
If you have any further questions, always feel free to contact me directly at 800-710-7499 Ext. 133.
I'm always happy to help!

I am interesting in ordering a rear tine tiller and would like to know what is the difference in counter rotation and dual rotation
Daryll Amberg
from Wisconsin
May 26, 2013
Answer
Daryll,
Dual rotation allows you to till with your tines moving forward away from you and backwards towards you. The reverse rotation is called counter rotation, and that is best for a deeper till. Forward rotation is mainly for cultivating.
Tillers that are labeled counter rotating only have the reverse function.

What advantage is there to the dual rotation on the tines?
Troy J.
from Colorado
May 09, 2013
Answer
Like the counter-rotating tiller, the dual-rotating machine has one extra feature: It can work in both forward and reverse tine motions. Considered a higher-end tiller, this heavy-duty machine choice gives you the most versatility. For example, you may be tilling some very softer ground using the forward motion but then move on to an area that is extremely compacted. You can automatically switch into reverse gear so that the tiller's tines cut deeply into the soil without much effort from you.

Is there a tiller available or modifiable to be key start. 40 years of line work have left my shoulders unable to pull start ropes. Thanks Morris

Answer
Morris - we do not carry a key start tiller model, but how about a push button starter? The Husqvarna DRT900E has an electric start feature that allows you to start the engine by pushing a button instead of pulling on the starter cord. You would plug in the starter box to any household electrical outlet using a standard extension cord. Push the starter button and when the engine fires, you unplug the extension cord and start tilling. Click on this link to see the tiller: Husqvarna DRT900E

Hi. Will you explain the 'dual rotating' tines verses the 'counter rotating' tines. I am perplexed in buying between these two features. Thank you! Mike

does the tine rotation have a neutral when you move from one garden to another or do they always turn?
from
May 15, 2011
Answer
Yes, all the Husqvarna tillers have a control bar that must be engaged in order for the tines to turn. So if the control bar is not engaged, the tine will not turn.

I had a craftsman tiller last and it is made by Husqvarna. The transmission is flawed on this and I want to know if this is a problem on their own tillers?
Ted Harwell

Thanks for your inquiry. The transmission has never been an issue on this tiller. This is a good dependable model for us and we have never seen any transmission issues.

What is the difference between the Husqvarna drt900 and the drt900H and does it justify the extra $100?
Julie
from Ohio
March 13, 2011
Answer
Thanks for your inquiry between the DRT900 and the DRT900H is that the DRT900H has a Honda engine. I would say it justifies the extra $100 because of the high performing Honda engine.
