Tillers Direct Recommended

The Troy-Bilt TBC57 is the ultimate cultivator for the person looking to get away from the maintenance of gas, but also looking to escape cumbersome cords. This cordless, battery operated cultivator is great for working up flower beds as well as maintaining rows of vegetables.

The TBC57 adds a bonus not found on many cordless tillers and this would be an extra battery. The battery which comes with this cultivator has the ability to run up to 40 minutes on a single charge depending on soil... more

My Tiller
It is such a treat to be able to easily start my tiller. No mixing of oil and gas. No difficulty starting. It's not as powerful as some tillers but it is not as frustrating as my last tiller. This will also make it easier to till between the rows in my garden.
Pros: Light Weight, Easy To Use, Reliable, At Least Its Easy To Start So It Is Dependable

Great For Older Users
Purchased for my 80+ year old mother, she could no longer pull start her small rototiller but wanting to keep her independence. This tiller fits the bill, just plug in battery and go. Only downside, she is under 5 feet and the handle is to tall. Also the battery is hard to get in and out of the charger.
Pros: Easy To Use, Quiet, Price, Light Weight
Cons: Not For Short Users, Battery Hard To Get In And Out Of Charger

Great Idea Failed To Fulfill My Exact Needs
I have a small Troy-Bilt tiller, but it would not go as deep as I needed. The Cultivator was more narrow and I hoped would get me the depth I needed. But the soil was hard enough that the front tines just walked in most places. Where the soil was moist and mostly sandy, it did what I needed but still not to the depth I wanted. I know what a cultivator is supposed to do, but I had hoped to use it to help me create a utility trench deep enough to reach the depth the utility workers requested. I... more

"I had the cultivator in short order. I did find that one of the batteries shipped with the cultivotor was faulty but after explaining what I felt was wrong between the battery and the charger, I was shipped a replacement immediately and it worked just as well as the first one I charged. I can use the cultivator in places where I only need to stir the soil and the idea that all I need is a fresh battery instead of fuel is a great idea. Customer Service was reasonable in that I did not have to ship the bad battery back and they believed that I knew what I was talking about where the charger was concerned."

Great Small Tiller
I am a one armed person and while the cordless tiller is in no way as powerful as a gas model it does a decent job and is not hard to handle.
Pros: Easy To Use, Quiet, I'd Buy It Again, Durable

A Garden Workhorse
Having owned a Troy Built gas tiller in the past. I found this to be of similar weight and power. With the extra battery this machine gives me the about 1.5 hours of tilling twice a day if needed.
Pros: Easy To Use, Quiet, I'd Buy It Again, Easy To Store

Cordless Tiller By Troy Built
I love to work in my flower beds and hate to hoe them out in the spring. This little tiller is perfect for all my small jobs in the yard, and light enough to lift into my Ranger and take to the more distant spots for a quick till. The name brand gave me confidence in the quality.

Ok So Far 0 Too Soon To Get Top Rating. If Holds Up For 5 Years
Headline tells the story. Easy to start...why I bought it. Only get about 20 min on charge, but have been using it heavy. Seems like well thought out design. Only had it a couple of weeks, so kind of early to evaluate. The support phone was excellent.

Does What It's Designed For Very Well
It's an excellent cultivator! Not intended to plow new ground so don't expect it to. My wife really likes it for it's ease of use between the rows and around plants. I don't have to run out and start the old gas one any more and explain why it won't start after being left half full of gas over the winter! For a casual tiller/weeder it's the best I've found.

Needed something that was small enough to go between the plants with ease and this tiller does just that. Quiet & easy to clean & care for. Would recommend for the small time gardener. Very happy with our purchase. Thank you.

Battery Life
I purchased with the intent of my wife using this tiller to maintain between rows after plants start to grow. I have a TB Horse that I run thru my 100' x 40' garden twice each spring to prepare for planting. This tiller was to replace a Craftsman gas powered tiller which my wife had trouble starting. We have been lucky to get 20 minutes of run time which is half what I was hoping for. Lesson learned, I stick with gas engine next time.
Pros: Quiet
Cons: Low Power
Bob, the Tiller Expert

Roger,
Roger,

This unit should have come with two batteries. The run time on these can depend on the ground, but with the second battery, you should have more than enough work time depending on the garden. If for some reason you did not get the second battery, please let us know. If you are only getting 20 minutes out of both batteries, so a combined 10 minutes, please let us know as the batteries should be lasting longer and may be defective.
