Q: Todd,
Do you know of any mini tillers that have blades that are pointed and can replace the cultivating blades? I currently rent a push aerator that requires weight to make holes to apply grass seed in thin areas. Pushing is becoming harder and that's why I looking for a mini tiller that changes blades.
Thanks
John

by John from Maryland on September 23, 2011

A: John - any of the four MANTIS garden cultivators that we carry can be adapted to an aerator function using the aerator attachment, which is sold separately: Mantis Aerator Attachment

Q: Are there optional wheels for the 16 inch, Honda engine model? How are they useful? What do they cost?
by Anonymous on June 28, 2011

A: There is a wheel set that fits all Mantis tillers. Mantis #9222. This accessory should run you about $60. We do not carry this accessory as it is a very slow moving item - not very popular. The wheel kit let's you roll your tiller to your garden; park your tiller in an upright position to add fuel, or store it upright when you don't have a wall to lean it against.

Q: How do you adjust the depth of tilling? Ten inches is great, but can you till at one or two inches for weeding?
by Anonymous on June 28, 2011

A: Yes, you can adjust the tilling depth on this tiller. For deeper tilling, move your tiller slowly back and forth, as you would a vacuum cleaner. Work the same area over and over until you’ve dug to your desired depth. For shallow tilling, switch the tines to the cultivating position. The exact instructions are all covered in the owner's manual.

Q: How many tines are on this tiller. Picture looks like eight? 4 on each side?
by Sheryl French from Washington on June 10, 2011

A: Sheryl - you are correct. There are 4 patented serpentine tines on each side of the Mantis XP tiller. The two outside tines on each can be removed if you want to till a narrower path, or use all 8 tines for the maximum 16" tilling width.

Q: What are the shipping box dimentions and weight for Mantis XP?
by Ken from California on May 05, 2011

A: Ken - The carton on this model measures 25" x 18" x 15" and the shipping weight is 37 lbs.

Mantis Xp (16") 35cc Honda 4-cycle Cultivator/tiller
After speaking with several friends who have the small version I decided to purchase the larger unit for my bigger garden. It arrived on time and on the specific date I requested. It was very simple to assemble and it started right up. I used it once and at first was a little disappointed because it took me almost as long to clean it up after using it as its actual use time. However, after thinking about it I realized I got my plot tilled in about 20 minutes and it use to take me several... more
