Q: Is there a tiller available or modifiable to be key start. 40 years of line work have left my shoulders unable to pull start ropes. Thanks Morris by Morris Grayson from Texas on March 05, 2012
A: Morris - we do not carry a key start tiller model, but how about a push button starter? The Husqvarna DRT900E has an electric start feature that allows you to start the engine by pushing a button instead of pulling on the starter cord. You would plug in the starter box to any household electrical outlet using a standard extension cord. Push the starter button and when the engine fires, you unplug the extension cord and start tilling. Click on this link to see the tiller: Husqvarna DRT900E by Bob, Product Expert
Q: Hi. Will you explain the 'dual rotating' tines verses the 'counter rotating' tines. I am perplexed in buying between these two features. Thank you! Mike by Mike from Pennsylvania on July 14, 2011
A: Mike - you may want to take a look at our buyer's guide for rear tine tillers. This will answer your question in detail, and give you some other things to think about and look for when choosing the right tiller. Just click on this link: Pick the perfect tiller by Bob, Product Expert
Q: Which kind of tiller has less problems? CARB Compliant or non CARB Compliant? And which one is is the model 960 93 00-13? Thanks, Bob by Bob St. Hilair from New York on May 10, 2011
A: Ideally it does not matter. The Carb compliant models just have an added spark arrester and some muffler modifications. This would not matter when it comes to longevity. The CRT would not be carb compliant.
Q: Do I have to pay to ship it back if something goes wrong while the warranty is in effect? by Kj from Kentucky on March 18, 2011
A: Thanks for your inquiry. If something goes wrong you would take the tiller to local Husqvarna dealer. There they would handle any work that needed to be done under warranty.
To convert lawn into garden you will need at least two passes or
This tiller is far more lightweight than the giant--but hugely effective Troy Bilt monster I used to have--but it does the job...eventually. I was disappointed because I bought this as a mid-level tiller and it did not do a good initial job on breaking virgin lawn soil into garden. I guess I remembered my old monster Troy Bilt too much.
On second pass, however, this tiller worked great--and I can see it will serve well in the mid-sized garden I have created in our new home. Although the tiller has weight attached in the front, it is still a tad small and bumps around a lot. Forget that one-hand operation stuff on first pass--but after that it does as advertised. If you are looking for a comfortable tiller to operate, don't get this one--the handlebars and adjustment for them does not work well and are generally plebeian.

Big mistake
I purchased the tiller really hoping to use it this weekend. After 2 minutes it made a horrible squealing noise. Now I have to drag it to a dealer to be repaired. Very disappointing.

Great first tiller
I got this tiller to break up clay and till up the garden. This tiller has been easy to operate, start and maneuver. I used it on my front landscape to break up the clay. I also used it to stir in peat and sand mixture to make a new bed and it did a great job. I am well pleased with this machine.

Happy!
From ordering my tiller until receipt, I have been well pleased with MOWERSDIRECT. I have recommended them to several friends. Now, for the tiller: I consider this one of the best purchases that I have ever made! I have used it several times and I have no complaints. This Missouri soil is tough, clay like and very difficult to turn over. I experienced no problems whatsoever. And, to think, freight was FREE! I will definitely be ordering more items from this company.

nice
Very prompt! Just finished doubling the size of garden to 30 x 60. Every thing operational and works fine. Very wet this year, cut through new soil very well with counter rotating tines.
Old part of garden almost got stuck once! But with reverse gear walked it right out. Love the reverse gear.

Has been a great machine
I work for a big box store so I had to special order it. It took about 4 days to arrive but was well worth it. I decided to take it home in the crate.
Once I opened it I noticed the belt guard was dented. I called Husqvarna and got a fax number to send off for a replacement part. After 16 tries I gave up.
The tiller itself took about 2 hours of running for it to act right. The belt drive was making a loud squealing noise then all of a sudden it quit. Once the tiller was "broken in" it has been a great machine.
For the price and with all those features I could not have made a better choice.
MD RESPONDS: You may want to give Husqvarna a call again at 800-448-7543 and let them know you weren't able to get through on the fax line. They should be able to escalate your case so you get the part you need.

I like your company, I happy to say the rudeness stopped at Mowers Direct.
I am amazed in this time span most companies have not acquired the the skill of courtesy first as Mowers Direct has.
The tiller it self is great. I was shopping at a Big Box store and I saw their tillers was displayed in front of the store. I smiled as I passed into the store- they were over priced and skimpy.

very nice tiller so far
I ordered it on Friday afternoon and got it on Tuesday. Fast delivery! But the box was very scary when it arrived. Skid was broken underneath and parts was sticking out of the box. I opened it in front of the truck driver and looked at the machine real good and did not see any damage - everything looked o k. I assembled it and started it and everything was fine. It tills very fine.

Where's the throttle?
Ordered on Friday morning from the website, it was shipped that Friday afternoon and delivered the following Tuesday....You just can't ask for more than that from an internet supplier! Good job folks, and the carrier you chose was outstanding as well.
The Husqvarna bean counter that decided to save costs on this model by eliminating a handlebar mounted throttle control should be "counseled". Thankfully though, throttle control parts that I robbed from the Troy-Bilt it replaced, transferred with a minimum of drilling, cutting and throttle friction adjustment in a one hour job.
Fasteners not tightened properly during assembly caused me to loose one of the case bolts, but I caught some others when putting it together and getting it ready to run. If you get one, don't even start it up without going over it for loose hardware. Assembly quality seems lacking.
Some aggravations at first, but once you get over that, it's quite a machine. Neutral allows you to roll it around un-powered, unlike other rear tine tillers. I haven't had a chance to use it a whole lot because of our wet weather, but I believe it's going to do everything I expected of it. I would buy it again, and I would buy it from Mowers Direct again...........Let's just hope it lasts!

My Husqvarna Rototiller
My Husqvarna rototiller arrived much earlier than was expected. I was told it was not available for 2 weeks on the order form, but it arrived before the available date quoted. The free delivery worked just great, the driver of the delivery company (R & L) called me 30 minutes before they were to delivery it, on the day we had arranged. In fact the driver was earlier than planned, and because there was no one to sign for it at the earlier delivery time, I was able to arrange with the driver to leave it with a neighbor.
The packaging was very substantial, which prevented any damage to the contents. The only criticism I have with the packaging is, there were instructions on how to open the package, but they were inside the package?????
I was able to get the Husqvarna rototiller out of the box and assemble it with no problems, it only need the handle to be attached. I did have a big problem getting the engine started, after numerous pulls on the cord, and no sign of it starting I had to go through a number of checks to establish the cause. It finally turned out to be the float in the float chamber sticking, so no fuel was getting through to the engine.
I am really pleased with the way Mowers Direct handled my order and they were the least expensive of any supplier of this brand of rototiller. I will use them again.

Retired
I've had my tiller about a month.
Pros: Walk behind is much easier than fighting the front tine tiller.
Starts right up, haven't use a tank of gas yet and have tilled about a fourth of an acre.
Cons: The handle is not well designed, might as well buy some bolts and nuts to use. The threaded points on the handle strip out with just a hand tighten.
I'm not sure if this is a pro or con, but the engine dies when I hit a rock about the size of my fist or larger.
Could be a good thing, maybe keeps from tearing something up, but you have to re-start it.

Received Husqvarna CRT900 Last Week
It was easy to put together and we followed the directions for operating to the letter. It tilled wonderfully for about 4 rows, then it started making a really loud grinding noise like the sound when you grind gears in a stick shift. Nothing in the trouble shooting section of the manual mentions this problem. I don't know what to do.
MD Responds: We recommend you consult with the folks at Husqvarna Customer Service. The knowledgeable people at Husqvarna should be able to assist you with your problem. Give them a call at 1-800-487-5951. Please have your model number, serial number and purchase date ready when speaking to a customer service representative.

Mission Possible!
I purchased the Husqvarna CRT900 from Mowers Direct after researching this model.
The excellent price, savings on the sales tax, and free delivery were the three deciding factors. It just made good sense from all points of view.
One of the best aspects of the sale was that I did not even have to pull out of my driveway to get the tiller that I specifically wanted.
My garden mission is now complete, and I definitely will consider Mowers Direct first when it comes time for my next power equipment purchase.
The Husqvarna line of equipment is rock solid as is the buying experience with Mowers Direct!
